Location: I-65 Northbound in Jefferson County
BIRMINGHAM – Weather permitting, on Tuesday, February 5, beginning at 8 p.m., the Alabama Department of Transportation will install Raised Reflective Pavement Markers on sections of I-65 as follows:
Details: • I-65 from the Mt Olive Road Interchange (exit 272) in Gardendale to the Jefferson/Blount County Line, near milepost 283.9
In areas where exit ramps diverge from the travel lanes, (gore area), the outside (right) lane will be closed in the area of work. The ramps will remain open to traffic, but will be narrowed to allow adequate space for equipment and personnel to safely perform the work. As work is completed in the northbound direction of travel, it will continue in the southbound direction.
This work will be completed as quickly as possible, dependent on weather conditions and work progress. All travel lanes will be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m. each day.
