Roadwork
Location:
All Interstate Routes in Jefferson County
Weather permitting, on Sunday, January 27, 2013, beginning at 8 p.m., the Alabama Department of Transportation will install Raised Reflective Pavement Markers on sections of I-59, I-65 and I-459 as follows:
Details:
• I-65 from the U.S. 31 Interchange (exit 238) in Alabaster to County Road 52 (exit 242) in Pelham, in Shelby County
• I-59 from the 1st Avenue North Interchange (Exit 132) in Roebuck to north of the I-459 Interchange (Exit 137), near Trussville, in Jefferson County
• I-459 from the U.S. 11 Interchange (exit 32) to the I-459 Interchange (exit 33), near Trussville, in Jefferson County
In areas where exit ramps diverge from the travel lanes, (gore area), the outside (right) lane will be closed in the area of work. The ramps will remain open to traffic, but will be narrowed to allow adequate space for equipment and personnel to safely perform the work. As work is completed in the northbound direction of travel, it will continue in the southbound direction.
This work will be completed as quickly as possible, dependent on weather conditions and work progress. All travel lanes will be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m. each day.
