Location:
I-59 Northbound and Southbound Lanes in Jefferson County
On Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will make repairs to the Sign Structure located on I-59 southbound at the Avenue I Interchange (Exit 119-B). The lane closure timelines are as follows:
Details:
SATURDAY, December 8:
• The inside (left) lane will be closed on I-59 northbound from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
SUNDAY, December 9:
• The outside (right) turn lane and the outside (right) thru lane on I-59 southbound will be closed from 3:30a.m. til 8:00 a.m. The southbound exit ramp will remain open, during this phase of work.
SUNDAY, December 9:
• The inside (left) lane will be closed on I-59 northbound from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.
SUNDAY, December 9:
• All southbound lanes will be closed by Rolling Roadblock, for up to 15 minutes, beginning at 6 a.m. If, at the end of this 15 minute period, the work has not been completed, then travel lanes will be reopened, until the traffic backup is cleared and then the lanes will be closed to continue the work. Each closure during this phase of work will only last for the previously described 15 minute time period.
