I-59 Northbound and Southbound Lanes in Jefferson County
Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9 weather permitting, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., ALDOT will make repairs and replacement to Impact Attenuators (Crash Cushions) on I-59 and US 31 in Birmingham, as follows:

SATURDAY, December 8:
• Replacement will be made to the Impact Attenuator in the southbound direction of I-59 at the overhead sign bridge just south of 4th Ave. South (Exit 132). This work will require closure of the I-59 northbound inside (left) lane from just north of the bridge over Red Oak Rd. to just north of the overhead sign bridge mentioned above.
SATURDAY, December 8:
• If time allows, repairs will be made to the Impact Attenuator in the southbound direction of I-59 at the Carraway Blvd. Interchange (Exit 126-A). The Carraway Blvd. exit ramp will remain open to traffic but will be narrowed to provide sufficient space for equipment and personnel in the work area.
SUNDAY, December 9:
• Replacement will be made to the Impact Attenuator in the southbound direction of US 31 at the entrance ramp to the Elton B. Stephens Expressway. This work will require closure of the US 31 northbound inside (left) turn lane to Carraway Blvd.
